Our Vision

In today's society, cancer is regarded as more than just a disease. Cancer has become a metaphor for evil. It effects all ages from the elderly to even the youngest of children. It makes people ill before it kills them, but it mysteriously consumes its victims before they die. The diagnosis of cancer is a chilling blow to the patient who hears it, because it can carry a sentence of pain and sometimes death. It is a gobal issue. Currently is no cure for it.

When we think of hospitals, we think of a place to go when we're sick or injured. But hospitals and the professionals, who work in them, possess a wealth of information regarding the prevention of illness and injury. The Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga helps to provide a quiet room for children with cancer.

In the hospital a skilled team of health care professionals work in a partnership with the family to coordinate their services and help provide care.

From the bright coloured murals on the wall to the beautiful playroom and a parent cot at each bedside it is evident that a child's friendly atmosphere is a priority.

The Ukrainian Youth Association (UYA) of Mississauga has been a long time contributor to the Credit Valley Hospital Foundation. It is currently generating money through the annual golf tournament for the funding of a second quiet room in this new expansion.

The UYA tournament funds are given to help provide a nurturing environment. This helps children grow. Not only grow physically but also mentally and spiritually. The funds allow the hospital to continue to give care to the children with cancer who need it for their wellness.
